Wabash Tower – Roosevelt University
Titan Electric completed a 32-story, 420,000 square foot expansion for Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago. The building, recognized as being the second tallest collegiate structure in the United States, is LEED Gold Certified. The “Vertical Campus” is located adjacent to the Chicago landmark Auditorium Building in a 17,300 square foot mid-block location, facing Wabash Avenue.
Floors 1-5 are devoted to student services/life activities including a recreation center, a 300-person dining hall and space for student clubs/organizations. Floors 6-13 have academic classrooms, teaching/research laboratories and several different-sized classrooms. Floors 14-31 serve as an upscale residence hall for over 600 students.
Titan Electric installed the following systems throughout:

Incoming distribution to serve the building, utilizing (6) switchboards totaling 14,200 amps

Energy-efficient T5 and LED lighting

UPS system backing up IT equipment

Area of rescue system and a complete addressable Simplex Fire Alarm System

DAS system cabling and Coaxial cabling for TV locations

1250 kw back-up generator for life safety systems and laboratory equipment

Low-voltage Leviton VOIP structured cabling, including WAP location throughout

Fiber optic and copper backbone cabling to 32 closets, relay racks and wire managers, patch cabling, testing and certification

3D BIM designs completed all in-house
