Raddison Blu Aqua Hotel

Titan Electric’s Low Voltage Division completed an extensive Design-Build installation for the award-winning LEED Silver Certified Radison Blu Aqua Hotel in downtown Chicago.

Radison Blu occupies the first 18 floors of the 82-story mix-use residential Aqua Tower skyscraper located in the Lakeshore East District overlooking Millennium Park. It features 334 guestrooms and suites, more than 28,000 square feet of meeting and event space, an 8,000 square foot fitness center including a sauna/steam room, a movie screening room, and an 80,000 square-foot green roof and recreation deck with fire pits, outdoor heated pools and hot tub.

A few of Titan’s Low-Voltage design build enhancements:

  • Cat6 structured cabling and fiber to all guest rooms

  • Media boxes directly from the MDF

  • Network based Lenel Security System, as well as Crestron Digital Media Audio Visual System, for six meeting rooms, board room and ballrooms – all featuring teleconferencing throughout

  • Background music throughout common areas, a video wall consisting of nine 46” LCD screens, DAS cabling, terminations, fiber optic cabling, APC fiber splices, antennas and sweep tests

  • Meeting space integrating lighting controls and motorized window treatments

  • IDFs minimized to only 2 IDF Closets and an MDF

  • Build-outs including multimode fiber optic, relay racks, ladder and tie cabling
